Blue Book’s Blue Balls
Watching Project Blue Book (it’s like a light-beer X-Files you know?) and it’s got all the good stuff…aliens and unexplained phenomena and government conspiracies and men in trench coats and fedoras “cleaning up messes” like patriotic janitors except reality keeps intruding…Trump’s so bad you know nothing’s getting covered up.
X-Files debuted just as we were wrapping up our time with George H. W. Bush who was proceed by Regan…those dudes were sinister they clearly operated and orchestrated agendas in the shadows.
People vanished during their administrations and lives and lies were credibly discredited. X-Files was masterfully unsettling not just because of the good writing but because Americans freely elected Presidents who called black ops…just: ops.
I dunno who is gonna win in 2020 but hopefully it’s some menacing dude otherwise everything’s gonna be set in creepy China where people still slip in the shower, get their brakes mysterious cut, vanish like Hoffa and there’s nothing to see here move along.

Artst Tlk Episode 1: Pharrell Williams Interviews Ben Mezrich & Andy Greenberg
Travel back in time with me (just this one time without the DeLorean/TARDIS) to 2012 when Pharrell Williams hosted an interview “tv show” on Reserve a YouTube Channel.
According to the channel’s description: “ARTST TLK” is a progressive take on the talk show format, with Pharrell Williams inviting special guests – culled from a number of different creative sectors – to explore each other’s work, motivations, inspirations and philosophies at different stages of their career.” The name alone had me boiling water for my tea; my hot version of you had me at hello.
Never did get around to watching it back then, thankfully everything done online continues to exist online. Just needed to wait for the water to boil and my time to free up:

Trailer Alert: The X-Files Returns!
Tonight…set your VCR (#SetTheVCR) for 10:00-11:00 PM EST for X-Files returns! Cue the undead hand punching its way out of the grave: may God have mercy on our souls. Like using Tinder as a dating app…oh how I want to believe this will be good.
I fear revivals like a monster of the week and yet like a Lone Gunman I’m compelled to check it out and get to the truth. Problem is I trust no one. Hopefully it’s not a Fluke…man. (That was the last one, I’m done now).

Trailer Alert: The X-Files I Want To Believe
I finally finished the X-Files…last year.
Back in the show’s original run (which wrapped in 2002 a delightfully stone age era with dial up internet, black and white Game Boys) I left when the show moved to LA aka Season 6. In 2014 my restless heart desired to finish the series…watch all 202 episodes and the 2 movies. What a marvelous and flawed run.

In The Zone of Twilight
Finished X-Files
“Slipped In The Shower…”
On January 22, 2014 I witnessed a fateful television vision:
I am gonna bite the bullet and start X-Files soon. 9 seasons! And 2 movies. Whew. I’m wrapping up Star Trek: Next Gen soon. (Next Gen is dated, for sure but still lots of fun. I wish they’d done more with Lore and his army of unhived Borgs.)
