Recently did an interview connected to Superman’s 40th Anniversary…the 1978 Christopher Reeve movie?

I was curious as 40 years later I’d never really heard which actors were considered to play Superman…ready?

Robert Redford was offered a large sum, but felt he was too famous. No…That Doesn’t Work. Next!

Burt Reynolds also turned down the role…with the mustache?!

Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner auditioned so did Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Neil Diamond…yo…to quote Brother Marvin What’s Going On?!

Paul Newman was offered his choice of roles as Superman, Lex Luthor or Jor-El for $4 million turning down all three roles. Newman’s a terrible Superman but the other 2 roles could work.

Finally: James Caan, James Brolin, Christopher Walken, Nick Nolte, Jon Voight, Kris Kristofferson and Charles Bronson were also considered or approached to play Superman. That’s wrong…all of it is just wrong.
