Trial by Trailer: Including…Pavarotti

Is this good?
Will this be good?
Every movie trailer answers or challenges those 2 questions. The ham-fisted rebuttal comes swiftly however: no you don’t need to always see a movie to know it’s tank.

Do you really need to sit through a Michael Bay Transformers movie to know for sure? Tank is Tank. And Fresh…well Fresh is always Fresh. I’m down like I’m Brown for that.

For the week of April 7-13, 2019 I cover:
Beyonce: Homecoming
Pavarotti
Stuber
The Addams Family

Shall we begin?

Beyonce: Homecoming (April 8)
Beyonce: Homecoming is Queen B’s latest crass commercial: you too can be this flawless for 3 easy payment$. It’s gross to invoke Maya Angelou who was always noble and authentic but here we are. Netflix…it doesn’t matter when.

Sammy Verdict: Ugh. Thanks but no thanks!

Pavarotti (April 9)
Ron Howard’s Pavarotti documentary…if you didn’t know Pavarotti was a “big” deal back in the day.

Sammy Verdict: I actually dunno much about the man so I kinda wanna see this but I can wait for Netflix.

Stuber (April 9)
Kumail Nanjiani sucks. Like a lot. As if The Twilight Zone wasn’t bad enough he’s following up that Crap Fest with this Crap Carnival: Stuber.

Sammy Verdict: I wouldn’t even see this tripe on an airplane. It’s like a Roger Corman Ride Along ripoff.

The Addams Family (April 9)
How is The Addams Family bigger/more popular than The Hilarious House of Frightenstein? Pop Culture and the legacies we treasure are endlessly weird. Something’s Overrated and Something’s Underrated.

Sammy Verdict: “Meet The Addams”…eh pass.
