Every movie trailer answers or challenges those 2 questions. The ham-fisted rebuttal comes swiftly, however: no you don’t need to always see a movie to know it’s tank.

Do you really need to sit through a Michael Bay Transformers movie to know for sure? Tank is Tank. And Fresh…well Fresh is always Fresh. I’m down like I’m Brown for that.

Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep (September 9)
Man…I dunno. Doctor Sleep is a terrible Stephen King novel while Mike Flanagan made a Ouija movie engaging (I Know.).

And King to Movies is a lousy genre it’s redrum for the audience…but.

Sammy Verdict: Maybe but I won’t lose any Sleep over this if I wait for Netflix.

Warigami (September 9)
Warigami premieres next Sunday September 15 on The CW. It’s like Mortal Kombat but with ah…paper. Flawless Victory? I don’t think so.

Sammy Verdict: Probably will pass on this. I dunno who this is made for…tweens??!

For All Mankind (September 11)
For All Mankind is our good friend Ronald D. Moore on Apple TV. Like Amazon’s incredible The Man In The High Castle it’s an alternate history (oddly…set in the same time period) where Americans lost The Space Race to the Russians. S’what you get!

(Bonus? For All Mankind is an 89 doc about the Apollo program with Brian Eno music!)

Sammy Verdict: Alternative History tv shows are my jam! 100% IN!

See (September 11)
Another Apple TV trailer this is Jason Momoa in See as in…I’ll See myself out. It’s like Blindness meets Full House (there’s a set of You Got It Dude! twins…) with some The Book of Eli tossed in for fun.

Sammy Verdict: I will not be See-ing this…

Little Monsters (September 12)
Little Monsters is a Hulu movie coming to cinemas November 15. Yeah I dunno about this…the trailer is off-putting. Dudes on Tinder dates don’t try this hard. Real Shaun of the Dead vibes minus the charm.

Sammy Verdict: Ehhhh…maybe. Not cinema money but maybe tv time.

Mystify: Michael Hutchence (September 13)
Ah…a devastating trailer…Mystify: Michael Hutchence. On October 30, 1997 Bill Berry left R.E.M. then just under a month later Hutchence perished while adults foolishly fear mongered Y2K.

Those were dark and perilous times.

Sammy Verdict: So wanna see this; hopefully it ends up on an accessible streaming service.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? (September 13)
Nickelodeon’s all new Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a limited series starting October 11. This trailer is waaaaay better than the entire Goosebumps movies (both of them!!)!!

Sammy Verdict: Like Roger Murtaugh I’m too old for this…

Countdown (September 13)
Countdown stars the You-Netflix chick with the decent booty and it’s clearly a Final Destination rip-off. That said…I’m fully in!!

Sammy Verdict: On October 25, 2019 I’ll pay for this cheeze so they make more: got Happy Death Day up to 2!

Watchmen (September 13)
Latest Watchmen trailer from Damon Lindelof: Hacks for the Memories. Well…October 20 on HBO. We’ll see; we’ll all see!!

Sammy Verdict: This is better…looks fun but I have zero faith in Lindelof. Like the milkman in 2019 he just doesn’t deliver.
