Every movie trailer answers or challenges those 2 questions. The ham-fisted rebuttal comes swiftly, however: no you don’t need to always see a movie to know it’s tank.

Do you really need to sit through a Michael Bay Transformers movie to know for sure? Tank is Tank. And Fresh…well Fresh is always Fresh. I’m down like I’m Brown for that.

You: Season 2 (December 2)
PSA: Sadly the You chick with the decent booty doesn’t return when You: Season 2 does on December 26 on Netflix. “The second season will follow Goldberg’s move to LA, where he meets Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), an aspiring chef that isn’t into social media like his previous leading lady.”

Sammy Verdict: If I have some downtime on my Christmas Break…

Mel Brooks: Unwrapped (December 2)
Mel Brooks is amazing!! Dude gave us Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles and countless other laughs. This witty documentary was originally shot in 1981 by Alan Yentob the former creative director for the BBC only, he didn’t have an ending. So he kept returning to Mel Brooks’s life shooting more interviews and hoping for an ending. What we now get is this evolution of Mel Brooks; because at 93, he’s looking back more than he is ahead. It’ll be a sad day when he and his frequent collaborator Carl Reiner pass away.

Sammy Verdict: December 13, 2019 on HBO I cannot wait!!

Belichick & Saban: The Art of Coaching (December 2)
#GOAT Alert: Two of the greatest coaches of all time in one powerful HBO sports documentary airing December 10 on HBO. Bring a pad and a pen; I’ve no doubt we’ll be taking notes as this unfolds. I’m reminded of the Michael Jordan commercial whose copy is:

“We’re scared for different reasons.
I’m scared of what I won’t become
& you’re scared of what I could become.

I won’t let myself end where I started,
I won’t let myself finish where I began.”

That’s exactly what these 2 men, these 2 coaches have done. That Jordan commercial’s tagline has Become Legendary. Indeed.

No Time To Die: Teaser (December 2)
Kinda. The first trailer for No Time To Die arrives on Wednesday. Here’s the nice people at the studio have given us a teaser: I do appreciate the Aston Martin headlights become guns. That’s fresh. Otherwise…

Sammy Verdict: Still mixed emotions with this Emo-Bond.

Black Widow (December 3)
The knock on a Black Widow is why should it exist (ditto for Marvel Studios’ other unnecessary project The Eternals) and the results are mixed. Recycled Red Sparrow, the fat superhero Thor vs Stranger Things…I dunno. Taskmaster is kinda cool. Black Widow feels a bit behind…especially since she’s dead. And with no overarching Thanos story line anymore it’s not compelling or Must See TV.

Sammy Verdict: Eh…save it for Netflix; no opening $. I’m sure it’ll be fine it’s just not worth pants.

Soundtrack (December 3)
It’s a musical so I didn’t watch the whole trailer. Yeah never gonna happen my friend.

Sammy Verdict: You hafta be in La La Land to think I’d sit through this…

No Time To Die (December 4)
While I’ve not been a Daniel Craig fan: ditching the misogyny for emo-emotions & vulnerability was just a gross violation. He’s Bond he’s dead inside; values little so it never made sense. No Time To Die seems to be “a coarse correction.” (And stop it…if your take away is that I want to talk or act like that…please bother somebody else on Twitter. For the character it fits and it works; pop culture doesn’t hafta reflect my values. Put on your Big Boy Pants and deal with life, son!)

Sammy Verdict: Might actually pay for this…
