Every movie trailer answers or challenges those 2 questions. The ham-fisted rebuttal comes swiftly, however: no you don’t need to always see a movie to know it’s tank.

Do you really need to sit through a Michael Bay Transformers movie to know for sure? Tank is Tank. And Fresh…well Fresh is always Fresh. I’m down like I’m Brown for that.

Avengers: Endgame (February 4)
I dig how the Avengers: Endgame Super Bowl ad frames “Where Do We Go, Now That They’re Gone?” with Captain America. Let’s Do This, Yo!

Let’s put the Clown from Cellular into the ground…what are we waiting for?! It’s called Endgame so back it up!

Sammy Verdict: In! And kinda rooting for Thanos…

Captain Marvel (February 4)
Slick Marketing for Captain Marvel continues: we saw this move during Black Panther: spin the movie into a referendum (read the comments! It’s working…) and sidestep the conversation we should be having…Is It Good?

Sammy Verdict: The hype and marketing is dumb; so is the character: still it’s a Marvel movie and I’ve come this far.

The Twilight Zone (February 4)
The Twilight Zone Super Bowl commercial was well…Jordan Peele is looking better than Forest Whitaker so that’s a good start…still an uphill battle to be better than Rod Serling.

Sammy Verdict: We’ve watched 2 revivals…how are you gonna be better?

Shaft (February 7)
Shaft is a bad mother (shut your mouth!)…you know what else is bad? This Shaft sequel…so giving this the shaft; this looks awful. This Crap Carnival comes out June 14.

Sammy Verdict: I cannot dig it.

Unplanned (February 7)
I adore America. The team behind God’s Not Dead return with a Planned Parenthood is evil biopic: Unplanned drops March 29. “Won’t somebody please think of the children?”

Sammy Verdict: This’ll be wonderfully cheezy but the second it’s on Netflix…I’d be curious…
