Subway Synergy of Columbine

I sadly did not see any tiny horses in Portland. I don’t mind the city…it’s like a cross between Vancouver and Austin Texas.

On The Subway synergy! I’m reading Dave Cullen’s scintillating Columbine about the high school massacre in 1999 and dude next to me is reading Marilyn Manson’s autobiography (who oddly got blamed for the massacre).

The author clearly spent years working on this book…it’s packed with police reports, journal entries from the killers and more…like sermons from the various churches in the area and how they responded to the event.

Picking up our ongoing discussion on how the church is so frustrating and gets culture wrong. One of Columbine’s unfortunate legacies is sloppy journalism and the narratives we choose to accept at face value. Dave Cullen’s outstanding and well researched book Columbine deftly dispels lots of those juvenile narratives: just because it’s popular don’t make it true.
